First details of the evince December release

Here at OL HQ we’ve kicked off the design process for the December evince release (it’s a big one - we’ve got to start early!). As a taster of what’s to come, here’s one of our initial logical architecture diagrams showing how the FSD modules come together with the current evince platform to deliver a hybrid information management system which includes the links to the ISPP and the open integration capability.

evince pilots

The evince pilot took place between 14th April -30th April, with 7 Local Authorities involved: Harrow, Kingston upon Hull, Salford, Sheffield, Peterborough, North Lincs (screenreader testing) and Nottinghamshire. The pilot involved the local authorities using the system with a copy of their own data and performing different day-to-day tasks as they would in the current iChIS system. The purpose of the pilot was for the local authorities to give us feedback on what was working well and what was not working so well so that we could fix it within our development phase for the May release. The feedback we received was very constructive and focused on the usability of the system (speed, navigation, menus etc). The feedback has been added to the list of work for the May release.

Technical requirements and reports documentation available

We’ve uploaded more evince documentation to the site today including:

  • evince Technical Requirements - An overview of the minimal client requirements necessary to use evince
  • evince Standard Reports - A list of the reports that are included by default with evince

As always you can grab these files from the downloadable documents section of the evince website.
